We participate in networks and programs that enhance our capacity to develop, implement and evaluate integration strategies and promote exchanges of information and best practices and cooperation on integration issues. Below you will find examples of our EU cooperations.
Boosting young student’s access to employment through student jobs
Youth unemployment is a huge problem across EU. In some EU countries more than 30% are unemployed. In Denmark, the situation is quite different as there is a tradition for employing youth during their studies. Over the last couple of years, Foreningen Nydansker has worked with international students and we have noticed that very few have relevant work experience.
Together with partners from Belgium, Italy and Spain, we will produce a guide on how to best include students at the workplace. The objective of the project is to promote student jobs as a way of capacity building and reduce unemployment after graduation from universities by giving students work experience already while studying. We will therefore share our experiences and we hope that our partners can draw some inspiration from the Danish model. For more information, please contact Louise Rosenthal Jensen.
EMPLOYMENT 4 INCLUSION
The Employment 4 Inclusion project (E4I) focuses on one of the biggest challenges regarding the integration of migrants, newcomers, asylum seekers and refugees (MNAR) in Europe: how to deliver the best intervention model to promote their social and labour inclusion.
Employment 4 Inclusion aims, among other objectives, to foster the social and labour inclusion of migrants, newcomers, asylum seekers and refugees. The products of the project includes:
- A hub for best practices for social and labour inclusion
- A massive open online course (MOOC) relevant for at broad spectrum of profesionals
Partners from Greece, Spain, France, Italy and Denmark are cooperating and sharing experiences, to assure European relevance as well as national usable tools.
The BREFE project, which is supported by Erasmus+, aims at boosting refugees’ access to employment. Assuming that being employed is key for a successful integration, BREFE wants to fast track the access to employment of refugees and newcomers by:
- improving their learning experience and empowering them regarding learning
- valorizing their key competences and transversal skills to obtain a first job
- facilitating language learning at the work place
- associating companies in the learning as well as in the global integration process
The Association New Dane works together with Spanish, Italian and French partners in order to develop a series of methods and tools to be used by professionals working with the group of refugees. The Danish diversity charter
The Danish diversity charter was launched in 2011. The Association New Dane established the Danish Charter for Diversity with support from the Danish Ministry for Children, Gender Equality, Integration and Social Affairs.
The Danish Charter for Diversity is the unifying body of several regional and local charters in Denmark. The Copenhagen Diversity Charter was launched in 2011 and reached 500 signatories in less than two years.
In 2014 the experience from Copenhagen was passed on to the second and third city of Denmark, Aarhus and Odense, which set up diversity charters of their own with 640 signatories between them. You can find more information here - in Danish.
